Dr. Brocksen has more than a decade of experience in social work, research, and university education. She served as a legislative assistant for the California State Assembly and has worked as a researcher in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, examining the prevalence of developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Brocksen has spent more than 10 years in social work education. She has a number of publications and presentations on health research and social welfare policies. Currently, Dr. Brocksen is the academic program director of the social work programs at Walden University.
