Dr. Day combines teaching with professional practice. Her dissertation was a study of intergovernmental relations among law enforcement, education, social service, and water quality control officials. Dr. Day has taught political science, public administration, and city planning at Rutgers University, several colleges in St. Paul, Minn., Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, San Francisco State University, and the University of San Francisco. Dr. Day has published a book, journal articles, and review essays in policy and planning journals. Her recent practice experience, from 2004–2008, was with the Budget Office of the University of California Office of the President where she worked with the capital project implementation group in project reviews and as liaison with the State Department of Finance.
