Dr. Burchett currently serves as a psychology instructor and dissertation mentor at Walden as well as a part-time psychology instructor at Western Washington University and the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Europe. He has held positions that include assistant professor of Psychology at The American University of Cairo (Egypt); founding faculty member and assistant professor of Psychology at the American University of Sharjah (UAE); research associate with the Center for Applied Research in Educational Technology; associate professor of Psychology with UMUC, Europe and Asia divisions. He has presented his research findings at various conferences and his work has appeared in several publications, including International Journal of STD & AIDS and Journal of Economic Psychology.
