The purpose of the society is to:
- Recognize superior achievement.
- Recognize the development of leadership qualities.
- Foster high professional nursing standards.
- Encourage creative work.
- Strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the nursing profession.
Current Walden nursing students, alumni, and faculty are eligible for membership. The society is currently applying to become a chapter of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International—the second-largest nursing organization in the world.
