Background
In addition to his work at Walden, Dr. Legg serves as a consultant and education director for Gerber Consulting Services Inc., a long-term care consulting company based in Clymer, Pa. He also serves as a consultant and nursing education director for Performance Plus Training & Consulting in Carlisle, Pa. Additionally, he maintains an independent consultative practice in the area of geropsychiatric and mental healthcare, proving services to several long-term care facilities. He is licensed as a registered nurse as well as a certified registered nurse practitioner and nursing home administrator in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as several other states. He maintains board certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing, nursing professional development, as well as board certification as a gerontological nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and he is also a fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators. As a certified health education specialist, Dr. Legg assists numerous nonprofit organizations in providing a wide range of health education and health promotion programs. Dr. Legg has been published extensively in the fields of nursing education and long-term care. His book, Disaster Nursing: A Handbook for Practice, won the 2009 American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year award.
