Dr. Tan comes to Walden after more than 10 years of teaching and service in clinical and nursing education. Since 2006, she has developed academic courses that relied on the impact of technologies and online learning in nursing; she also served as the assistant director of nursing and director of grants and allied health research; received the Mississippi Science Teacher in Excellence Award for
contributions to nursing and science. Before joining the Walden faculty, she directed associate degrees in nursing at Holmes Community College. She is a lifelong member of Mississippi Academy of Science, as well as a former president of Theta Beta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International and chapter mentor, and has received grants for her contributions to pancreatic cancer research. She continues to strive for excellence in nursing education and scholarship by publishing annual scholarly works.
