Background

Dr. Caramanica is the chief nursing officer at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga. She has held several nursing executive positions, including Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y.; Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Conn.; Lawrence Memorial in New London, Conn., and Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Conn. An experienced healthcare executive, she has more than 20 years of senior-level leadership in acute care settings, including strategic planning, operational management, business development, resource management, and promoting clinical safety. She has taught, published, and presented extensively in the area of leadership, quality/performance improvement, shared governance, and nursing practice.
