Menstrual cycle education
Dr. Moon has spent 20 years in practice and 12 years in academia. She has been a labor and delivery nurse, lactation consultant, childbirth educator, clinical nurse specialist, and certified nurse-midwife, and has directed a prenatal clinic and hospital education department. Dr. Moon created a computer-based, interactive module “A Woman’s World: Discovering the Dynamic Menstrual Cycle,” which she has presented nationally and internationally. In 2007, Dr. Moon was the recipient of the Esther Rome Student Research Award presented by the International Society for Menstrual Cycle Research in Vancouver, B.C., and received an “Excellence in Mentoring” award in a previous position. She joined Walden’s faculty in 2010 and teaches in the MSN program. Dr. Moon is a member of the Menstrual Cycle Awareness Panel for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development office.
