A practicing statistician since 1969, Dr. Spencer has more than 40 years of professional experience in business, consulting, and higher education. He began his career teaching at the university level, and then spent more than 25 years at AT&T, where he held a number of positions, including head of the statistical consulting group, head of the operations research group, and head of the applied quality lab at AT&T Labs. Most recently, he was a research professor in applied statistics in the math department at New Jersey Institute of Technology. A Walden faculty member since 1997, Dr. Spencer mentors Ph.D. students and teaches quantitative research and statistics.
