Background
Dr. Stephen Onu spent more than 15 years working in commercial, government and nongovernmental organizations as both a program manager and project manager. Dr. Onu has managed successful projects both in the developed and emerging countries; he is recognized as an expert in turning around projects with cost overrun and poor deliverables. He won the best managed project award by the Egyptian government for saving the government more than $50 million on a failed project. Dr. Onu served as an adjunct professor and senior faculty member at American Sentinel University and as a senior technology and management consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton. He has been a member of the Project Management Institute since 2000 and is a member of the International Project Management Association. Dr. Onu has published articles in peer-reviewed academic journals and is a reviewer of the Journal of Management. Hiss textbook in project management is due to be released in December 2012. He joined Walden’s faculty in 2011, teaching project management courses.
