Using technology in the classroom, the role of games in teaching accounting
Dr. Legner became a Certified Public Accountant in 1985 and a Chartered Global Management Accountant in 2012. Her business career was spent in public accounting, working for a regional firm for a number of years before launching her own accounting firm. Her firm provided management consultation, computer systems analysis, and payroll services in addition to traditional accounting functions. In 1997, she sold her practice so that she could devote herself to teaching accounting, finance, and business courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Legner joined Walden in 2008 and is a core faculty member in the College of Management and Technology. She teaches in the M.B.A and the M.S. in Management programs. She serves as lead faculty for a number of courses and as a subject matter expert for new course development. Dr. Legner also provides consulting services in her role as a member of the board of directors of a nonprofit organization and conducts financial seminars in her community to help those with financial challenges.
