Dr. Okere has more than 28 years of experience in accounting and finance in both the private and public sectors. He was assistant director of finance and fiscal management for the city of Chicago, the third largest city in the U.S., where he addressed auditing and transparency issues. He also has served as vice-chair of the board of directors for the Chicago Municipal Employees Credit Union and is a partner at a boutique consulting firm. Dr. Okere has researched and written about the environmental impact of oil companies in developing countries.
