Dr. Douglas Smith has spent more than 20 years in the technology field. He is the former principal of two Chicago technology consulting firms and he served as the CIO with the Kansas Department of Agriculture, where he led many IT projects to improve the services that the agency could provide to its constituents. Most recently, he was a project manager with a software development company located in Dublin, Ireland, where he led efforts to install a new legislative solution for the state of Kansas. He currently serves as the technology site director for a nonprofit online website. In his spare time, Dr. Smith volunteers his time with voter registration awareness and teen preparation for high school and college.
