Background

Dr. McMahan has 30 years of engineering and management experience in the energy industry. She started her career as a nuclear engineer and later managed development, communication, and implementation of operational and financial strategies and performance metrics for Southern California Edison. For several years, she represented Edison on the board of directors of Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, the largest nuclear plant in the U.S. Currently, she is vice president of Coos Curry Electric Cooperative, a nonprofit energy provider. She has taught online graduate courses in strategy, organizational leadership, operations management, project management, change management, and management theory. She joined Walden's faculty in 2012 as a contributing faculty member in the D.B.A. program.
