Timothy Barker has nearly three decades of professional experience in the telecommunications industry. Currently, he is a manager with Tekelec Inc., where he focuses on network design and implementation services of next-generation telecommunications solutions. Barker has worked at Cisco Systems Inc., Fujitsu Network Switching Inc., and served more than nine years in the United States Air Force. His experience spans a diverse range of technologies that include data networks, enterprise telephone systems, digital switching, signaling, and transmission systems. In addition to teaching at Walden, Barker is a faculty member at the University of Colorado, Boulder and the University of Phoenix. He teaches courses in areas that include network analysis, architecture and design, multimedia networking, systems development, software engineering, and project management.
