Dr. Borton has more than 25 years of full-time teaching experience in university classrooms. He is a former professor of computer information systems (CIS), served for 12 years as the chair of the CIS department at Colorado State University–Pueblo, and served for a decade as an adjunct faculty member in the university’s Outdoor Program. He twice received the Outstanding Faculty Member Award in the College of Education, Engineering and Professional Studies. Dr. Borton is a former assistant director of financial aid at the University of Northern Colorado and previously held computer programmer, systems analyst, and database administrator positions. He joined Walden in 2011 as a core faculty member in the B.S. in Computer Information Systems and the B.S. in Information Technology programs.
