Cognitive load and its effects on online learners dealing with isolation in the online environment
Dr. Stachel spent more than 26 years teaching adults in various education settings, both online and face to face. While serving as the chair of the School of Information Technology for ITT Technical Institute, Dr. Stachel earned his Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design for online Learning. In 1995, he retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel where he flew as an Army pilot and was a strategic reconnaissance and surveillance officer. During the last five years of his career, he worked as the information management officer for the Aviation Directorate in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Stachel joined Walden University as the undergraduate academic program director for the School of Information Systems and Technology in 2012.
