Background
Dr. Galer-Unti has published extensively in the major peer-reviewed journals of her field, presented at national and state conferences, and received numerous grants. She is the recipient of national professional awards from groups including the American Public Health Association (APHA) and the Society for Public Health Education. Dr. Galer-Unti has received teaching awards from Purdue University and Walden University. She currently serves on the editorial boards of Health Promotion Practice, The Nation’s Health, and the APHA Action Board. Locally, she has served on the boards of directors of many groups, including the American Red Cross, a consumer health advocacy group, and an immigrant health group.
