Since 2001, Dr. Nieves has been teaching both online and in-class at various universities. She is currently an instructor for Walden’s School of Health Sciences. She has authored and co-authored articles for various peer-reviewed journals and co-authored a chapter in a text devoted to bioterrorism. She also is active in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), The Association for Undergraduate Programs in Healthcare Administration (AUPHA), The National Emergency Management Association (NEMA), and the Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response Association (DPERA).
