Dr. Ciulla’s healthcare career spans over 35 years. He is currently an undergraduate contributing faculty member at Walden University in the College of Health Sciences and the School of Health Sciences. His career began as a materials manager, both at the hospital and corporate level. He served as an administrator (CEO) over four hospitals before moving to the corporate level as a COO over four subsidiary companies. For 10 years, Dr. Ciulla taught online courses at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) in the Department of Health Studies and College of Health Sciences. One of Dr. Ciulla’s passions is mentoring. As a healthcare CEO, he frequently mentored college student interns. In addition, teaching Internship Preparation at TWU provided him with the opportunity to work with seniors preparing to enter the health education and healthcare field. Dr. Ciulla has received a number of awards and commendations over his career, including the MARK I Quality Assurance Award for Texarkana Community Hospital presented by LIFEMARK for 1981 and Mary Lynn Drew Scholarship Award in “Recognition of Outstanding Scholarship” presented by Department of Health Studies, 2001.
