Dr. Solberg is a recently retired lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy. While on active duty he was a Medical Service Corps officer and assistant professor in the Division of Health Services Administration at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md. A multidisciplined executive with 20 years of general and healthcare management experience, Dr. Solberg has held various positions including director for business services, comptroller, and chief operating officer at an environmental health and Bio Safety Level 2+ laboratory; program manager, Naval Medical Information Management Center; head, medical department, USS Kearsarge; deputy department head, Patient Administration; and surface warfare officer/engineering officer on board the USS Kalamazoo. He is a fellow of the Inter University Symposium on Military and Society, a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a fellow of the Council for Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education, a Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt. His areas of expertise include general and healthcare management, DoD financial management, and human systems integration.
