Dr. Refaat has taught courses in public health for more than 25 years. She joined Walden’s School of Health Sciences as a faculty member in 2002 and has also served as a chair or member of various thesis and dissertation committees. She has also taught medical students in Egypt since 1982. She has been a World Health Organization consultant for community-based curriculum design in various medical schools, mainly in the Eastern Mediterranean region, and has worked extensively on community development and health promotion through community partnership programs. In the past decade, Dr. Refaat has been a principal investigator for national and international research projects.
