Youth health-risk behaviors, health disparities, women’s health issues
Vickie Sanchez is the director of Walden’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program. Prior to joining Walden, she served as MPH program director at Missouri State University (MSU) for 3½ years. From 1999 to 2009, she taught at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), where she served as director of the MPH program for the last five of those years. She led the self-study and accreditation process at both MSU and EKU, and both programs were granted initial Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation. Dr. Sanchez participates in numerous community-based service and scholarly activities that aim to improve the health of communities. She is an active member of a local CDC Community Transformation Grant Leadership Team, the Missouri Council for Adolescent and School Health, and the Healthy Food Pantry Collaborative in Greene County, Mo.
