Dr. Johnson is a licensed professional counselor, certified school counselor (GA), approved clinical supervisor, and national certified counselor. She works individually with clients in private practice and part time as a high school counselor. For the past 15 years, she has worked in a variety of capacities in the counseling field, helping college students in career planning and development, adults in career transition, adjudicated youth in residential placement, and female survivors of domestic violence. Dr. Johnson has published scholarly work related to spiritual assessment and existential counseling related to intimacy and parenting. Dr. Johnson has been a contributing faculty member at Walden since September 2010. She teaches skill development in the Interviewing and Observational Strategies and Techniques in Counseling courses.
