Background
Dr. Downs joined Walden in 2006 and has concurrently been teaching and counseling for Maricopa County Community College since 1999. She has done extensive research in factors contributing to juvenile delinquency and recidivism. Dr. Downs is licensed by the state of Arizona as a licensed professional counselor and is also a national certified counselor. In addition to teaching, Dr. Downs has a small private practice specializing in crisis intervention and personal development.
