International and cross-cultural education, including college student culture in China, the brain drain in China, and teacher exchanges between the United States and China; the perspectives of non-native teachers working at tribal schools; historical research on Asian Americans in the Pacific Northwest; developing curriculum for high school social studies on Asian Americans

Background

Dr. Englesberg was on the education faculty at Western Washington University for 13 years and currently is the director of the Asian American Curriculum and Research Project there. He has also taught at several universities in Taiwan and China and in alternative high school programs. Dr. Englesberg has been teaching in online graduate programs in education and advising doctoral students since 2005. He lives in the northwest corner of Washington state and joined the Walden faculty in 2008.
