Smoking cessation and cognitive and behavioral issues surrounding substance abuse
Dr. Urso joined Walden University in 2008 and is the coordinator for the Nursing Education specialization. Her teaching experiences include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in nursing management, community health, and advanced pathophysiology at other institutions of higher learning over a period of 14 years. She also has developed courses for distance education on advanced pharmacology and pathophysiology. She is a published author of multiple articles on smoking cessation and other clinical issues. Dr. Urso is involved in the leadership of nursing professional organizations, such as the American Nurses Association’s Minority Nursing Fellowship Program, and is a past president of Sigma Theta Tau International, Gamma Psi chapter.
