Dual-language early childhood programs; emergent literacy baseline assessment (ELBA) and early childhood curriculum; distance learning models for pre-service special educators; communication development from birth to five years: recommended practices, teacher licensure preparation programs, workforce systems, education reform in developing countries

Background

For the past three years, Dr. Kelly has served as a consultant to the Supreme Education Council of Qatar. Her work includes education reform in preK–20, with a focus on early childhood and special education. Previously, she served as associate dean for teacher preparation programs at Walden, and she has mentored doctoral candidates since 2004. Prior to working with Walden, Dr. Kelly was a supervisor at the Colorado Department of Education and state representative to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Dr. Kelly frequently engages in international research and was awarded a Fulbright Senior Scholar appointment to Cyprus in 1999–2000.
