Special education has enhanced Dr. Eicher’s life for the more than 30 years in which he was involved in youth leadership in national organizations. Dr. Eicher served on the President’s Committee on Employment of the Handicapped when President Ford was in office. He began teaching special education in 1976, when the first mandates appeared to serve students in public schools, and he continues to be involved with the changing environment of today’s schools. At Walden he mentors and works with Walden students in their pursuits of a doctoral degree with a specialization in Special Education.
