Project Working Mom: Putting Education to Work Scholarship

Walden University has joined Project Working Mom: Putting Education to Work, a campaign started by eLearners to raise awareness about the educational challenges that many working mothers face today. The mission is to provide single working moms with a scholarship* to return to school and also to demonstrate how online universities allow single working mothers to advance their careers while managing responsibilities at home and work. Walden University is committed to helping these mothers continue their education and attain their degrees.

Doctoral applicants must also demonstrate the capacity to conduct and succeed at research, which may include the following:

Disbursement
Funding for the scholarship will be disbursed each term in the amount of tuition for that term.

Walden University must be in receipt of all of the scholarship recipients’ official documentation in order for scholarship funds to be disbursed. Students who take a leave of absence for an entire term forfeit the scholarship amount for that term. Students may not apply forfeited scholarship funds to another term. Students who withdraw from the university will forfeit the scholarship. Receipt of this scholarship may reduce your loan eligibility.

Current students may apply their scholarship to remaining courses of the program in which they are currently enrolled. They will not be reimbursed for completed courses. 

The award winners will be selected by Sunday, May 11, 2008, and will be notified shortly thereafter via U.S. certified mail.

Except where prohibited by law, the award winners consent to the use of their name and information from their applications in any manner by eLearners.com without further compensation. The details of the terms and conditions of accepting an award will be set forth in Award Agreement and Affidavit/Release forms to be signed by award winners.

The award winners must return the Affidavit/Release as well as the Award Agreement forms within 10 business days of receipt to claim their scholarship. Failure to return the forms within 10 business days will result in forfeiture of the award.

The award recipients are responsible for course materials, except for programs in which course materials are provided.

*Not valid for Tennessee residents.
