From the time of their initial enrollment, doctoral students are limited to 8 calendar years for completion of their degree programs. Master’s students are limited to 4 calendar years, with the exception of students in the NTU School of Engineering and Applied Science, who must complete their degree requirements within 5 years. For students on military leave of absence, the duration of the leave is not counted toward the time in which their degree program must be completed.

Students need to complete the minimum credit requirements described in the program section of the catalog.

Continuous Enrollment Policy

The university expects students to be continuously enrolled until the completion of all degree requirements. Students receiving financial aid should consult a financial aid counselor to determine how their enrollment status impacts their eligibility for financial aid and educational loan deferment now and in the future.
