Information Technology Policies Technology Requirements To ensure their success, students should be proficient using email, the Internet, and common desktop productivity software.
GeneralGeneral technology requirements for all Walden students, except those in the Master of Information Systems Management (M.I.S.M.) and Master of Healthcare Administration programs, include the following:
Note: Doctoral students and students in the M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program are encouraged to use a laptop computer for their work in view of their required attendance at academic residencies.
Students in the Master of Health Administration (M.H.A.) program: In addition to the General Technology Requirements, in order to benefit from required interactive tutorials used in one of the courses, students will need to have periodic access to Windows 2000 or later, Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, and 1 GB or more of RAM. Mac users must have an Intel® Mac with OS X version 10.4.11 or higher and 1 GB or more of RAM. For more details, please see the course description for MMHA 6115 in this catalog.
Students in the M.I.S.M. program have the following technology requirements:
Students, throughout their program, can request technical assistance and support in the online classrooms from Walden’s Student Support Team.
eCampus PortalAdditional, different, or upgraded applications, features, or functionalities may be installed on the eCampus portal from time to time, and these technology requirements will be revised accordingly. Although the university will use reasonable efforts to provide notice of any such revisions on the welcome page of the eCampus portal, students are nonetheless responsible for maintaining familiarity with the terms of the catalog, including the Technology Requirements, as the same may be amended from time to time. |
