NEEP NEEP 6111 Computer Architecture (4 sem. cr.) This course encourages direct empirical measurement of interesting systems, as well as analytical evaluation and simulation in the design and evaluation of instruction sets. It focuses on the techniques of quantitative analysis and evaluation of modern computing systems, such as the selection of appropriate benchmarks to reveal and compare the performance of alternative design choices in system design. The emphasis is on the major component subsystems of high-performance computers: pipelining, instruction level parallelism, memory hierarchies, input/output, and network-oriented interconnections. Students undertake a major computing system analysis and design project of their own choosing.
NEEP 6221 Digital ASIC Design (3 sem. cr.)
NEEP 6993 Independent Study (1–3 sem. cr.)
NEEP 6994 Directed Research (1–3 sem. cr.)
NEEP 8997 Thesis (3 sem. cr.) |
