Through Walden’s Academic Year in Residence, you’ll acquire critical skills that are required for professional practice. Through face-to-face interactions with faculty and peers, you’ll develop your skills and become engaged in your profession at a deeper level.

Acquisition of clinical skills and knowledge
Socialization into the profession through
- Face-to-face interactions with faculty and peers
- Academic advising
- Exposure to experts in the field who share a breadth of information and research related to scholarship and clinical practice
- Discussions on how the theoretical foundations and knowledge bear directly on the practice of psychology
- Preparation for Field Training (Practicum and Internship)
  Conference participation
Courses in psychological assessment, covering
- Cognitive assessment
- Personality assessment
- Advanced testing

Timetable

13 months in which you complete 500 hours of face-to-face interactions with administrators, faculty, students, staff, and other professionals. Typically begins between your 2nd and 3rd year of study.
3 2-week residencies
3 testing courses taken across three quarters: PSYC 6341 (5 cr.), PSYC 6351 (5 cr.), and PSYC 8361 (5 cr.). (Residency seminar portions provide 140 hours of face-to-face contact time.)
