Community Health Promotion and Education

The Community Health Promotion and Education specialization focuses on developing strategies that improve the health of communities and their individual members. Included in this specialization are the study of multiple issues of health and human behavior, including health and healing, health and professional behavior, health and social behavior, and health and life span issues. You may focus in the areas of community health, environmental and occupational health, school health, and worksite health, or you can design your own area of study. Regardless of your area of study, your academic work will incorporate these three core community health functions of assessment, policy, and assurance:

Note: You have the option to design your own course of study; however, it must fit within the existing structure of the Community Health Promotion and Education specialization. It must also be developed in consultation with program faculty and approved by the faculty chair.
