Alumni MagazineCairns are stone markers built by those who’ve been down a path to mark the way for those who will follow. For centuries, people in cultures around the world have used cairns to guide their journeys across challenging landscapes and left stones to commemorate historic sites.

 

There is even a tradition of visitors to Walden Pond leaving a stone at the site of Thoreau’s cabin.

 

Having celebrated its 35th anniversary and launched this inaugural issue, Walden University is, in a humble way, leaving a stone to commemorate our journey, your journey, and the journey of graduates to come.
