Dr. Hoa Bui Appel ’05, who earned a Ph.D. in Health Services in the General Program, received a post-doctoral fellowship from the National Institute of Mental Health to study “Ethnic Group Differences in Mental Health Perspectives,” which was the subject of her dissertation. The fellowship program is being conducted through the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, and Appel will be conducting her fellowship work at the University of Washington.

 

Dr. Rosie E. Mills ’05, who earned a Ph.D. in Human Services with a Self-Designed specialization in gerontology, co-authored a chapter, “Assertiveness vs. Aggressiveness in Customer Relations,” in Customer Relations and Professionalism for the Professional Woman, to be published by Kira Henschel.

 

Dr. Harold C. Mayer ’04, who earned a Ph.D. in Health Services with a specialization in Community Health, is now an associate professor in the School of Physical Education, Health and Wellness at Southern Adventist University, in Collegedale, Tenn.

 

Dr. David B. Harrell, ’01, who earned a Ph.D. in Health Services, was elected fellow of the Royal Institute of Public Health, in England. He is an adjunct professor of sleep medicine at the Midwest Sleep and Neurodiagnostic Institute.

 

Dr. William J. Moore ’91, who earned a Ph.D. in Human Services, received licensure as a certified clinical supervisor in Maine. He is the president and CEO of the New England Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies.
