Dr. Stephanie Brooke ’04, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Organizational Psychology, was invited to Puerto Rico to discuss art therapy on a television program that highlights the work of nonprofit organizations. Brooke has written three books on art therapy, two on art therapy assessment, and one on art therapy with sexual-abuse survivors.

 

Dr. Paula M. Fremont ’04, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Organizational Psychology, presented with faculty member Dr. Will Wilson at the American Psychological Association’s annual convention in August.

 

Dr. Bill Barter ’03, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology, passed the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology in Maine.

 

Dr. Penny H. Koepsel ’03, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology, accepted a position as a school psychologist in the Klein Independent School District (KISD) in the Greater Houston area. She was then promoted to special education program coordinator of appraisal and psychological services for the KISD, which includes 35 schools and has been growing at the rate of one school per year.

 

Dr. Toby K. Davis ’02, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology, was named director of community services for Lewis County in upstate New York. A licensed psychologist and credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor, Davis has oversight responsibility for contract agencies and county-run service organizations supporting persons with developmental disabilities, chemical addictions, and mental illness.

 

Dr. Yangcha “Soyoung” P. Crabb ’01, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology with specializations in Clinical Psychology and Organizational Psychology, led the Desert Willow Treatment Center through the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accreditation process. Crabb is a director of Southern Nevada Residential Programs for severely emotionally disturbed children, including the Desert Willow Treatment Center, which is the only state-funded child and adolescent mental health hospital in Nevada.

 

Dr. Eve Weber ’01, who earned a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology, had an article, “Geographic Relocation Frequency, Resiliency, and Military Adolescent Behavior,” published in the July issue of Military Medicines. She also received a staff appointment to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and was selected as an associate with the Commonwealth Psychological Associates in McLean, Va.
