Dr. Denise Duzan-Wilkins ’04, who earned a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Higher Education, was appointed chair of the Department of Education at Panola College in Carthage, Texas.

 

Dr. Andrea Edmundson ’04, who earned a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Educational Technology, was recognized as the first recipient of the Editor’s Award of Excellence, presented by the International Journal of Information and Communication Technology Education. Her submission, “The Cross-Cultural Dimensions of Globalized e-Learning” received the highest overall evaluation in all categories, and she was cited for her introduction of the Cultural Adaptation Process (CAP) model for adapting e-learning courses. Edmundson is the director of eWorld Learning, which promotes global convergence through e-education.

 

Dana Clolinger ’03, who earned an M.S. in Education with a specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy, was named director of operations for four Sylvan Learning Centers in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

Vicky Panasuk ’03, who earned an M.S. in Education with a specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy, received the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award for furthering excellence in education. Panasuk, a reading specialist and Title I assistant supervisor, developed an intervention reading program for first- and second-graders at Sidney Elementary School in Sidney, Mont. The award included $25,000 in unrestricted funds.

 

Dr. Dorothy Williams ’02, who earned a Ph.D. in Education, was promoted to full professor at Regis University, in Colorado. In addition, she received the 2005 Excellence in Teaching Award.

 

Dr. Roberto Mercado ’99, who earned a Ph.D. in Education, completed an Ed.S. in bilingual school psychology at Loyola University in Chicago. He teaches online for the Illinois Virtual High School.

 

Dr. Oliver Boone ’96, who earned a Ph.D. in Education, was named principal of Millbrook Middle Junior High School in Georgia. Boone was dean of principals for Crawford County Schools in Crawford, Ga.

 

Dr. Jill C. Alred ’95, who earned a Ph.D. in Education, was appointed the Sage Program coordinator for the Division of Education at Marygrove College and will serve as an assistant professor of education, specializing in classroom management and foundations of education.
