If you have college credits you’d like to transfer to a Walden program, we can evaluate them using your transcripts. With unofficial transcripts, we can give you an estimate of which credits might transfer. However, for credits to actually transfer, your official transcripts are required.

Please contact an enrollment advisor to learn more about how to transfer credits to a Walden program. An enrollment advisor can help you determine whether transcripts are official or unofficial and provide guidance on sending transcripts to Walden. With your admission letter, you will receive a list with all transferrable credits and how they align with your program of study.

Credit Evaluation Criteria

Credits to be evaluated for transfer from other educational institutions must be earned and recorded on an official transcript at a school that was accredited by a regional, professional/specialized, or national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the U.S. Department of Education at the time the course was completed or from an appropriately accredited institution outside the United States.

For transfer of credit into graduate programs, you must have earned that credit:

  • Within 10 years prior to or after matriculation, but within the time limit for earning the degree, unless noted differently.
  • In courses posting a B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
For transfer of credit into undergraduate programs, you must have earned credit:
  • Within five years prior to matriculation for any technology courses if you are enrolling in the B.S. in Computer Information System or B.S. in Information Technology programs.*
  • In courses posting a C (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
*There is no time restriction for other undergraduate programs.

There may be additional program-specific transfer of credit criteria.
