We provide our students—a diverse community of working professionals—with the opportunity to become more than just scholars; we give them the knowledge and skills to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to the real world and make a difference in their lives and their communities.
Below are just some of the ways Walden is focused on making a greater difference in the lives of our students and others.

Social Change Impact Report
The Social Change Impact Report is an annual survey that Walden commissioned to discover the current state of social change around the world, assess the impact of social change, and learn more about the individuals who are creating and applying ideas. The report also identifies individual beliefs about social change, the issues they care about, the motivations behind their engagement, the actions they are taking to further social change, and the tools they use.
Global Day of Service
Walden’s annual Global Day of Service is an opportunity for the Walden community to make an impact in neighborhoods around the world and advance the university’s mission of positive social change. Members of the Walden community generously donate their time and expertise to serve their neighbors in need, as they experience firsthand the impact they can make in the lives of others. Students, alumni, faculty, and staff contribute to community projects serving schools, food banks, community centers, and much more.
Walden Service Network
Every day, Walden students, alumni, and faculty and staff members are actively involved in service and other volunteer work. The Walden Service Network is an online resource that provides the opportunity for the Walden community to find volunteer opportunities, recruit volunteers for community service events, and record volunteer hours. Learn more about the Walden Service Network, and put your ideals into action by volunteering today.
Scholars of Change
“The Scholars of Change contest reinforced my belief in advocacy. The contest advanced my message to thousands, creating a support network of advocates much larger than I could have alone.”
Lee Ann Walker, D.B.A. Graduate
Watch videos of personal stories from our students and graduates who demonstrate how a Walden degree is helping them make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of those in their communities. The winners’ inspirational videos underscore our social change mission and show how our community is helping to advance the greater good.
Social Change Conference
Walden’s
Social Change Conference provides participants with the opportunity to learn from an exceptional group of leaders whose visions for social change are being realized through their innovation, collaboration, and passion. Making a positive impact has never been more important than it is today; be inspired by viewing our
archived conferences.
Perspectives on the World
Through Walden’s Perspectives on the World series, distinguished scholars, journalists, and social scientists share their diverse global views with doctoral students and faculty members at commencement ceremonies and academic residency programs.
