(Ph.D. Psychology Student)

Obviously money is a factor. It’s a factor in a lot of things in my life and in most people’s lives. Really the only way I would be able to become a doctoral student is if I had some financial backing. And so my enrollment advisor also helped me get in touch with the financial aid department and get the money that I needed.

Money should never be an obstacle. We start at the very beginning, helping students fill out the free application for federal student financial aid called the FAFSA. We also try to help students find other sources of financial aid that are not offered by the university. We also have a list of scholarships that students can avail themselves of if they’re eligible.

Financial problems can affect your lifestyle. You have a home mortgage to pay; you have to buy food and clothing for your children. And just being able to know that I do have financial assistance available is very helpful.
