My Ph.D. in Educational Technology is going to allow me to further my career in educational technology. That’s what I have my master’s degree in, and I look forward to being able to do other things outside my classroom work. Right now, I am taking the Emerging and Technology class by Dr. David Thornberg, and it’s very exciting because being in educational technology now for 16 years, I have done a lot of reading of his and have learned a lot about him. To have him as an instructor here at Walden is just amazing. He’s introduced us to something called McLuhan’s tetrad, and what it does is it allows us to look at technologies that either are obsolete or are becoming obsolete, and what are the emerging or future technologies that are replacing those?
