What Is Expected of Me?

Our students report that they spend 10 to 20 hours per week, per course, contributing to class discussions, completing assigned readings, and working on assignments and assessments.

Walden’s Academic Advising Team members will encourage you to schedule blocks of time dedicated to sustained critical thinking, reflection, and scholarly work. Before you begin a program, enrollment advisors will encourage you to discuss your commitment to your academic goals with the important people in your life.

Many courses are asynchronous, meaning you can log in at any time, from anywhere—as long as you follow the weekly schedule, including specific log in requirements.

Depending on your program, online courses are offered in

• 16-week semesters (some with consecutive 8-week courses)
• 12-week quarters (some with consecutive 6-week courses)
