The Writing Center

Scholarly writing is a critical component of graduate-level study. Walden’s Writing Center supports graduate students as they develop their writing skills. You will have access to online resources, a dedicated staff of editors and tutors, and a choice of elective writing courses to help you enhance your communication skills.

The Writing Center provides

• Free tutorial services, including English-as-a-second-language assistance
• Face-to-face tutoring and writing seminars at Ph.D. and Ed.D. residencies
• Graduate writing courses that address fundamentals of scholarly writing, APA style, critical thinking, and literature reviews
• One-on-one consultations on course papers and dissertations
• Comprehensive APA style and usage guidelines
• Useful templates and samples of theses and dissertations
• Recommendations for additional writing guides and resources

The Center for Research Support

Walden’s Center for Research Support serves the university community by supporting high standards in ethics, scientific rigor, and the dissemination of knowledge in the interest of positive social change.

When you become a graduate student, Center for Research Support staff will offer you

• Assistance in pursuing grants, fellowships, and other sources of funding for your research projects
• Resources for publishing and presenting your research
• Guidelines and rubrics for developing your thesis and dissertation
• Access to the Institutional Review Board (IRB), which is responsible for ensuring that Walden research complies with the university’s ethical standards and federal regulations
