Special Education Endorsement Program Field Experience

An integral part of Walden’s Minnesota state-approved* special education endorsement program, the field experiences are opportunities for you to connect theory and practice and prepare for daily classroom responsibilities.

Beginning with your first course, you will be required to complete five hours of field experiences in classrooms that meet criteria established by Walden. In addition, each course provides you with three to five hours of a specially designed Virtual Field Experience that is classroom-focused and interactive and relates to the course learning objectives, standards, and skills for effective teaching.

*Not applicable in all states. Walden University’s endorsement programs are approved by the Minnesota Board of Teaching for endorsement or add-on licensure in Minnesota. Candidates for this program must already hold a valid P–12 teaching license. Walden’s enrollment advisors can provide individuals with guidelines and other information about endorsements. It remains the individual’s responsibility to understand and comply with the out-of-state endorsement requirements for the state in which he or she seeks to be endorsed.
