Course-Based or Mixed-Model: Which Format Is for You?
Walden offers you two ways to complete the Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration program. To help you determine the format that best fits your learning style and needs, we offer the following comparison:
The course-based format may be your best choice if you want to
- Follow a structured program with a specific plan for completion
- Complete your Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration in as little as three years*
- Collaborate with peers and faculty members through online discussions and face-to-face residencies
The mixed-model format may be your best choice if you want to
- Focus on an area of interest about which you are passionate, transferring what you have learned to real-life situations and putting your new knowledge to work
- Participate in a program that has been updated to include new timely course topics and has a reduced number of credits required for completion
- Conduct research independently, while working closely with a faculty mentor and attending face-to-face residencies
*Time to completion may vary by student, depending on individual progress and credits transferred. For a personalized estimate of your time to completion, call your enrollment advisor at 1-866-492-5336.
