Homeland Security

In the wake of the events on 9/11, the field of homeland security has grown exponentially. Consider this concentration if you want to learn more about standard operating procedures for identifying, planning for, and responding to terrorist threats, as well as patterns and trends related to terrorism.

In this concentration you will

  • Learn about all types of weapons of mass destruction and biological and chemical threats and disasters.
  • Discover how to respond to such incidents.
  • Study the skills required for a homeland security position with
    • The border patrol
    • Local and regional first responders
    • Hazardous material response teams
    • Emergency relief agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Administration

Completion Requirements
