Background
Over the course of a multifaceted career, Dr. Trybus has used his doctoral degree in clinical psychology to pursue clinical work as well as university administration and research. He is a licensed psychologist in California and Washington, D.C. Much of his clinical and research work has focused on issues of diversity, especially with respect to persons living with a disability and/or with deafness or hearing loss. He has served as a dean, provost and vice president for academic affairs, and chancellor. He also has established and led research institutes at three institutions and has served as executive director of a community nonprofit agency serving persons who are deaf or hearing impaired. Dr. Trybus is committed to a global view of psychology and currently serves as a university accreditation panel chair and member of the Hong Kong Council on Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications.
