University Accreditation (Regional)

Prospective and current students can find more information regarding Walden University’s regional accreditation and other accreditation not related to the education profession.

NCATE Accreditation Candidacy

The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University is a candidate for accreditation by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), www.ncate.org. Candidacy status means that The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership has met preconditions for accreditation but is not accredited. This candidacy covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs at Walden University.  However, the candidacy does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, relicensure or other purposes.
